Tchoukball tips from Coach.

Hi Mr Dass,
Please pass this message to the students.

When doing entry pass, make sure your leg doesn't cross the line.

When there is  a foul, quickly tap the ball and start. Don't waste time waiting or deciding who to tap.

Make use of 3 steps/side shooting. It will increase chances of scoring. If they are too close to the forbidden zone, do 1 or 2 step shooting.

Finally, do not argue among yourselves. Always stay focussed until the match is over. All the best to you and see you tomorrow.

Happy National Day 5R

Recollections taught me how much Singapore has gone through and how well
5 Responsibility 2009 can do!

Go
here

and send an ecard to me.
In your message, please tell me

i)what makes you proud to be a Singaporean,
ii) one thing you learnt from the recollections text and
iii) one thing you learnt from practising and performing the recollections.

Selected entries

I learnt that it was not easy for our forefathers to walk this far and that we should be grateful for what we have now - Yan Han

I am proud of Singapore because we have different races living together in one country yet we still maintain peace.I learnt that our forefathers have gone through a painful process and paid the price for us, so we have the responsibility to secure our future.I also learnt that we can acheive what we are aiming for if we work together. We are one united people. - Siew Chin

One thing I have learnt from the recollections text is that Singaporeans work together in times of crisis and have cleared many obstacles together. I also learnt what is the meaning of teamwork. During the actual performance, the videos did not work out but we did not panic and stop halfway. Thanks to everyone's effort, the show went on and we still did a great job! Kudos to everyone! - Lee Bin

"...that if our hearts are together as one,we will acheive what we want in the end" - Si Ning

:...we must stay cool anytime" - Bernice

'Recollections was not a simple task.I learnt that if we work as one mind ,one body, one soul we can accomplish anything. " Isaac

"...we must must cherish what we have and do not take things for granted." - Jia Yin

"I've also learnt that we must speak with pride about Singapore as it is our country, our homeland! " Sharon

I have learnt that we have to be aware of our situations. While we are reciting the recollections, we must be focussed and not to be influenced by the pupils who are laughing. - Kai Jie.

"Unity is strength!" - Shawn Lim

"We must make friends with people regardless of their races, languages or religions." - Ignatius

"There is a chinese saying. Backstage we train for 10 long weeks, onstage we perform for 10 minutes" - Jolene Kong.

Education Minister Ng Eng Hen, who joined the celebrations at Admiralty Primary School, said Singapore's unity and harmony should not be taken for granted. This is because if bombs are to go off here, ties that have taken decades to build may be fractured.

What do you treasure about Racial Harmony in Singapore? Comments please.

Selected comments...

"I treasure my non-chinese friends though I do not have alot . Without Racial Harmony we will have lots of riots ... my father said during one riot ( I forgot which one ), his parents were very worried and told him and his sibilings to hide and the room and lock the door for safety . I do not want to experience that , not going to school to see my teachers and friends . And without Racial Harmony we would not have any chance to have friends from different races and the opportunity to wear and try out the different races traditional costumes :D" - Zheng Xuan

" Let us hope that our future generations treasure racial harmony and peace in Singapore, as some other countries do not have what we have today." - Jolene Kong

"I treasure the moments I share with my multi-racial friends usually during soccer games." Marcus Ho

Green for Hope Week 5R collection - reflections

Dear 5R,
our collection for this week is 39cm. The best record thus far from another class is 129cm. Congratulations to that class! Let's ask ourselves how we can improve our collection of newspapers. Let's revisit the purpose of the Green for Hope Week.

1) What are two objectives of the Green for Hope Week which Mdm Mok briefed last Friday?

5R, please remember what our objectives are. After reading through your comments, please take note.

Objective 1:It is to recycle as many papers as we can to save our Earth!

Objective 2: It is to raise money for the needy pupils in the school.

2) Please give suggestions how we can improve our newspaper collection?

Thank you for the suggestions. We will look through them in class. However let's start collecting them and putting them in a corner of the classroom from today!
